For fans of Ford, the Paris Motor Show, which runs until 19 October, is very much the place to be, as the company unveiled the latest additions to its portfolio.
Making their debuts were the all-new, trend setting S-MAX, the stylish C-MAX and Grand C-MAX multi-activity vehicles, the sporty Focus ST and ST diesel, and the highly anticipated Mustang, the first European version of the car in its history.

Ford has revealed that its new Mondeo will be ‘the most technologically advanced Ford vehicle ever introduced in Europe’ when it goes on sale later this year.
The company has released new details on safety features, including the car’s ability to detect pedestrians in the road and autonomously break to avoid rear-end collisions.

Ford has announced that the new Focus will deliver the car’s most fuel-efficient powertrain to date, with improvements of up to 19 per cent. Owners will also be able to benefit from significant reductions in CO2 emissions across the line-up.
The latest Ford Focus, which will continue to be priced from £13,995, will be the first in Europe to offer the company’s highly regarded 1.5-litre EcoBoost petrol engine and will be available for the first time with the 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine.

Ford has confirmed that testing of a right-hand-drive version of the Mustang is underway, ahead of its UK release in 2015.
Construction of Europe’s first ever Mustang has recently been completed and the prototype is being used to conduct a range of development tests in preparation for a full unveiling. No other RHD model has been produced in the 50-history of the car, so demand is expected to be high when it makes its much anticipated appearance on UK forecourts early next year.
Following on from the success of being Britain’s top-selling car for the last four years running, the Ford Fiesta has officially been crowned the UK’s biggest selling car of all time.
Data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) shows that, at the time of writing, the Ford has sold a total of 4,132,294 Fiestas since the first cars rolled off the production line in 1976. Impressively, the Fiesta has also led the small car segment in the UK for 27 of the last 37 years.
Ford has taken the wraps of its brand-new Edge SUV, the car that will see the company enter the large sports utility market in the UK next year.
Ford has seen huge success across the world with its SUVs, selling 1.2 million last year, with notable clamour for vehicles in North America, Russia, and China. Now, with demand for large-SUVs increasing in the UK and Europe, the company has decided to make the Edge its flagship SUV here.
The 2015 Mustang is one of the most hotly anticipated cars of recent years, but not even Ford expected the consumer stampede for early models.
The Ford Fiesta has been named The Telegraph’s Car of the Year for 2014, seeing off a number of more expensive models in the process.
Ford has dropped its biggest hint yet that the Focus RS – the car enthusiasts’ model of choice – could be returning to forecourts by 2016.
Ford has introduced a new version of its highly rated Fiesta ST hot hatchback, boasting a range of extra standard kit and new features including cruise control and keyless entry.

Unveiled for the first time at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona and set for the Geneva motor show next month, the latest Focus will sport a number of enhancements and improvements. Ford has been as prominent as ever at the 84th annual Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland this month, with the all-new Ford Focus and SYNC 2 technology proving major talking points. However, while the Focus leads the company’s extensive stand, some of the other vehicles on show signify Ford’s intent to begin stretching its influence in new markets.
Ford has posted its annual sales report and revealed its biggest profit in a decade. Driven mostly by strong performance in the US and Asian markets, Ford said that 2013 was ‘one of the company’s best years ever’, with pre-tax profits of $8.6 billion and increased revenue of 12 per cent.

2013 was a great year for the UK arm of Ford’s operations, with Fiesta and Focus hatchback’s proving the biggest selling cars of the year and total car sales topping 2.26 million. With sales of the family favourites showing no signs of slowing and new models on the way, 2014 is already shaping up to be even better. However, the good times might not last forever – especially if Britain takes the decision to leave the European Union.
