The Ford Focus was designed to be a replacement for the Escort and the first model was sold in the UK during 1998. The second version Focus was showcased at the Paris Motor Show in 2004 and in 2005, the sporty Focus ST was introduced. It was able to achieve 0-60 mph in 6.4 seconds and had a top speed of 152 mph.
The Commercial Vehicle Show 2012 is being held at the Birmingham NEC from Tuesday, 24th to Thursday, 26th April. The show is open from 8.30am to 5.30pm each day and promises to be extremely popular. There are two hotels close by offering excellent accommodation for visitors who are travelling some distance and don’t wish to make the return journey in one day.
Ford UK has recently commissioned a survey about safety and a surprising result came to light regarding text messages. In the UK, one in every three drivers has admitted that at one time or another they have read a text whilst they were driving. This, of course, is extremely dangerous, not only for the driver but also for any passengers which may be in the vehicle, together with all other road users in the vicinity.
A major attraction at the Geneva International Motorshow in Switzerland which opened on 8th March and continues until 18th March is the new compact MPV from Ford. The Ford B-Max, although small in stature, certainly makes up for its lack of inches with many innovative features.

Not all Fords of course – this is the special edition Fiesta Metal and there are only 1,000 being manufactured. At a starting price of £15,695 and increasing to a huge £16,165 for those heavy metal enthusiasts who want the option of Midnight Sky metallic paint this, at first glance, seems to be expensive for the ever popular Fiesta. Bought in its millions since first being sold in 1976, this small family hatchback has been universally loved throughout the UK.

Ford UK has started the year with sales being slightly higher than predicted. January is traditionally a poor month for sales, with everyone attempting to put Christmas excesses behind them.

The 2012 New Delhi Auto Show was the stage for the unveiling of Ford’s new crack at the Eco-friendly SUV market, the Ford EcoSport. Based on, and sharing the platform of the Ford Fiesta, the EcoSport is part of the company’s new campaign “One Ford” which is aimed at targeting the markets in Europe, the UK, North and South America and China, with over 100 markets expected in total.

After it’s unveiling in late 2011 at the Los Angeles Auto Show, hype and anticipation is continuing ahead of the Ford Kuga SUV’s release, expected in summer 2012. Thanks to the company strategy “One Ford”, the Kuga is no longer a separate model and is now all-but identical to the North American Ford Escape, with just a few noticeable differences.

Having been unveiled to motoring world at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, Ford fans are increasingly excited about the release of the new Ford Fiesta ST which is expected to go on-sale just in time for the release of the 62 registration mark in September of this year.
