Ford look to offer parents sleepful nights

Posted on 11 Apr 2017

For years parents have used the family car as a way to get a crying child to sleep when all else has failed. With this in mind Ford has been developing a cot that replicates the sound and movement of the journey without ever having to leave the house.

The Max Motors Dreams crib is a prototype that produces a gentle hum and car movement allowing parents to get well needed sleep rather than spend time driving around to get and keep a child asleep. Releasing details to the media, Ford commented in the first year alone new parents can expect to lose the culmination of 44 days sleep.

Recording the motion and sounds that helps new-born babies to sleep, the data is then transferred to the crib via an app that has the ability to control the motions and sounds best. This is complemented by by soothing LED lighting that mimic passing street lighting.

Speaking about the Maz Motors Dreams Crib, Alejandro López Bravo, designer commented After many years of talking to mums and dads, we know that parents of newborns are often desperate for just one good night’s sleep. But while a quick drive in the family car can work wonders in getting baby off to sleep, the poor old parents still have to be awake and alert at the wheel,”
