During the original 11 minute chase around the hills of San Francisco McQueen created box office gold. When Ford provided the entertaining test drives there was one simple rule; don’t race the car over the downtown hills. Air bound muscle cars look amazing on the big screen, but in real life the damage can be expensive.
The latest Ford Mustang Bullitt is finished in the same Highland Paint and powered by a 480bhp V8 engine with a manual gearbox. Benefitting from 20bhp more than the standard GT it is tuned to provide plenty of thrills.
Ford has previously released a Bullitt edition of the Mustang. In 2001 a limited edition Mustang Bullitt that had a 4.6l V8 engine, 0-62 time of 5.6 seconds and 265bhp was revealed.
