Legendary Ford Performance models up for auction

With a history of producing superb performance cars over its long history, Ford has made some absolute beauties. At an upcoming specialist auction, four of these iconic models are going under the hammer. Silverstone Auctions are set to put a 2006 Ford GT, 1990 Ford Sierra Cosworth, 1986 Sierra RS Cosworth Wolf RS500 and 1972 Ford Escort RS1500 to the highest bidder.

2006 Ford GT
Estimate: £230,000 to £260,000
One of just 27 delivered to the UK this beast has less than 6,000 miles on the clock and is powered by a 550bhp 5.4l supercharged V8 engine. Add to this a top speed of 205mph and a 0-60mph time of an incredible 3.5 seconds then you could get your hands on one cool car. Finished with the icon Ford dual stipes in blue, this 12-year old supercar oozes cool.
1990 Ford Sierra Sapphire Cosworth 4x4
Estimate: £30,000 to £35,000
Finished in striking Magenta with a grey interior this model has only 13,310 on the clock. With an 80 year-old previous owner, this is believed to be one of the first six 4x4 models to hit the market. Recently recommissioned by Rally Tec Cosworth specialists it has an estimated price of £30,000 to £35,000.
1986 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth Wolf RS500
Estimate: £37,000 to £42,000
With an upgraded 300bhp engine, racing pistons, steel twin exhausts, gold DTM wheels and lowered sports suspension this is RS Cosworth is one of only ten examples. Finished in Moonstone Blue this superb car has an estimate of £37,000 and above.
1972 Ford Escort RS1600
Estimate: £60,000 to £70,000
As few RS1600 examples are still around from the original 1,100 produced, this ground-up restoration is rare. Many were converted into rally cars that helped Ford win World Championships. Finished in Le Mans green this is expected to exceed £60,000 when the hammer falls.
